A Houston multifamily executive has founded a new real estate investment and operations company.

Greg Finch launched Houston-based Hilltop Residential, according to a release. The company aims to acquire and renovate multifamily real estate assets in Texas and the southern U.S.

Finch, the former co-founder and president of Canada-based real estate company Venterra Realty, has completed more than $4.2 billion in multifamily transactions.

“(Hilltop Residential) will provide excellent risk-adjusted returns to our investors by targeting properties that will produce cash flow and steady capital appreciation,” Finch, who will act as the company’s president, said in the release.

Other Hilltop execs include Max Monzon, formerly of Houston-based Raintree Resorts International Inc., and Brad Kosley, formerly with Cushman & Wakefield.

Hilltop Residential will start looking at Class A or B properties in Houston and throughout Texas. The company is looking for properties that were built in 1990 or later and can be renovated.

Finch has assisted with the purchase of more than 100 properties and 25,000 multifamily apartment units in Texas and the southern U.S.
